The “Elite”: Friday, September 18, 2020

Recorded September 18, 2020. The picture was taken on September 18, 2020, so the stats and highlights are consistent with this particular date in professional sports. This is one of my first daily episodes of The “Elite” that I made where I break down daily highlights from the previous day, the ninth Thursday of MLB action, the 28th day of action in the 2020 NBA Playoffs Bubble, and the second Thursday of NFL action. Additionally, I list today’s games, previewing potentially great pitching and hitting matchups for the 57th day of baseball for the MLB. Because the MLB season, as the first professional league to come back, is starting so late due to COVID-19, this is the 54th “Elite” Daily Episode of 2020, this is my 54th “Elite” Daily episode of the 2020 MLB season, and this is my 28th episode of the 2020 NBA Bubble Playoffs. In this episode, I list the individual stats of the best performers from the previous day (September 17, 2020), and I point out the stats of players that I have listed as “elite” in my profiles. I have also started recording the “best pitcher”, “best hitter”, and “best MLB play” of the day, along with the “best NBA Playoffs performance”, and “best NBA Playoffs play”. I used the MLB.com website to look up the stats from the previous game, along with the daily stats and standings during the MLB season. I additionally used ESPN.com to look up the stats and highlights for the remainder of the games that I mention in the episode. I also watched highlights for some games on their respective leagues’ YouTube accounts. My intent with these daily episodes is to run down the past day’s sports in a not-so-long amount of time to save time. I allude to specific games and moments, and I implore anyone who watches to look up moments and highlights if they want to. I also point out the particular athletes that I have labeled “elite” as not only great, but athletes that are performing at an “elite” level within their own sport. I also recommend watching my “Elite” Profiles where I go into depth about why these specific athletes are regarded as either “elite” or “GOAT” level talents. I recorded this episode and took this picture with my iPhone. Thanks for being a part of the journey.
